CD2 Learning Client Success Story - Ready List Pro

Client Story: ReadyList Pro

Chad Friehauf and Jake “The Snake” Plummer merged their NFL know-how with CD2 Learning’s platform to develop ReadyList Pro, a fully interactive playbook. This revolutionary learning and testing product is made by players and coaches for players and coaches.

The Challenge

When Chad Friehauf signed with the Denver Broncos, he thought his biggest challenge was to physically compete with quarterback, Jake Plummer....then he was handed a four-inch binder filled with thousands of plays. A strong student with a degree in engineering, Friehauf was overwhelmed by the binder fi lled with text. In the next nine years, he played for 11 other teams, collecting 11 more binders, and making him question how so many different types of learners could absorb information in this one-dimensional, static way. He discovered even players with a high football IQ struggled to digest so many plays in a limited time, so he began designing a digital playbook concept. Friehauf reached out to his former teammate, Jake Plummer, who agreed there had to be a better way to digest a four-inch playbook, especially for those players traded at the last minute or forced to make an emergency start. The two joined forces to forge ahead with ReadyList.

The Solution

The partners contacted CD2 Learning, a SaaS learning and development platform that provides clients with a modern suite of learning tools. CD2 is widely recognized for successfully working with specialty industries to design custom learning solutions. ReadyList worked with CD2 and used their built-in Simulation Engine to create the online learning solution, a patent-pending cloud-based, subscription service.

ReadyList will bring a team’s playbook content to life, utilizing simulations, videos, and gamification to appeal to today’s learner. The product is optimized for mobile delivery, compatible with any device, and accessible anywhere at any time.

ReadyList breaks down a play into its key elements, from its personnel and formation, all the way down to the recognition of the defense, providing players with an understanding of the structure, and execution of each play. This innovative solution puts players in the game, an engaging replacement for the static pictures and text found in traditional playbooks.

ReadyList has introduced competition into playbook learning too. Players compete for the highest scores on assessments and fastest times, which incentivizes users throughout the learning experience. Use and progress is tracked and provided through CD2’s reporting and analytics engine. The software acts as both an offensive football playbook and an assessment tool, so now coaches and scouts can track a player’s understanding of the plays. Until ReadyList, this hasn’t been possible!”
